September 2014: Kashmir suffered destructive floods, it was Omar Abdullah period when Kashmir was not ruled by controversial pair of BJP-PDP yet. Anandiben and ladies from Gujarat sent food packets to Srinagar, army started rescuing people. RSS did the same. Separatists were busy in vandalizing rescue and relief efforts so people don’t start supporting the army instead.Meanwhile I, one of the millions Indian voters/Modi bhakt, someone who never goes to any ground zero, started scanning and verifying the data available on social media, recharged some mobile numbers of stranded people so their families can get into touch with them, guided rescued people to the relief camp without leaving the comfort of my home, my call logs had more numbers of Muslims than of Hindus, and more STD calls than the local ones.
I met this Kashmiri lady named Nayeema Mehjood who was running this group to help flood victims in Kashmir daily and she was trying to send some ton of relief material from Delhi to Kashmir and she needed urgent help for that. Which I saw and arranged a team of volunteers from Delhi which reached the place. The common goal of helping people was achieved which she and I had.
Why I remember this today? Because apart from achievements by Modi sarkar, 2 more things happened in these 2 years:
-
Modi phobia: Questioning Decisions and Intentions of Modi Sarkar (E.g. why join hands with PDP in Kashmir)
-
Bhakt shaming: Questioning IQ level of voters who elected Mr Modi and labeling them as blind bhakt supporters (E.g. Me)
How is above incident relevant?
- The lady admin of that Facebook group, Nayeema Mahjoor with whom I collaborated to help the flood victims of Kashmir was a member of PDP, and I was inspired by the current Prime Minister who is from BJP. This happened naturally because of a common positive goal, much before BJP and PDP became partners to govern J&K. Post that she became the media advisor and then the chief of state commission of women in the J K government.
So, when you have the right intentions, joining hands with new people is not always bad.
- ” Bhakt ” is a forced label for millions of Indian citizens like me who voted for Modi as a part of democracy, who are accused of blindly supporting Narendrabhai on and off social media and being the people who are actually contributing nothing positive, and just literary sitting online by those who are still in disbelief that a tea seller defeated them.
I won’t say I was the only one who tried to help, there were many others, but certainly by giving this example I am saying,
that we reject this category of so called blind bhakt they are trying to label Indian voters as, who do nothing but throw trolling comments at people online. We follow Mr Modi, because he inspired us to DO, not to become, results may vary but efforts can’t be questioned as long as there are efforts with the right intent.
This is where we come from. This is what Karm-yog about, and this is what we, the so called bhakt class of India believe in. Action oriented intentions and result oriented actions. Calling us a bhakt will not change anything in reality. We are dreamers, we dream to DO! The people who want to contribute when they can. More than bhakts we are yogis.
While you talk of 2 years, we are looking forward to 2 more terms. It isn’t about vyakti pooja (hero worshiping), it is about the hope of millions and the future of billions.
The efforts are visible, so will be the results with Hari iksha and krupa, and there would be Millions more like me, who would enjoy 24 x 7 electricity in their homes and would just sit online doing nothing by next decade hopefully.
