[Video] Kejriwal’s car runs over woman journalist ’s leg?

Kejriwal Journalist

Of all states of the Indian Union, Punjab appears most considerate to Arvind Kejriwal and his so called “Anti-Corruption” cause. It was Punjab that sent 4 AAP legislators to the Lok Sabha when Modi wave flattened almost every party in India. Punjab is deeply disappointed with 10 years of Kleptocracy under Badals. If local buzzes and media journalist reports are to be believed, Punjab appears more than eager to turn a new page. BJP carries the baggage of its crestfallen ally, Congress is completely in shambles. And hence Arvind Kejriwal seems all set to wrest Punjab. Amarinder Singh, the old war horse, is trying to stage a comeback for the Congress but the chances of Congress getting a majority is zilch. Arvind Kejriwal is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring an AAP victory a la Delhi when Punjab votes in 2017.

Today, Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party convener Arvind Kejriwal was in Patiala to meet religious preacher Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwale following the recent attack on him in Ludhiana district. Kejriwal arrived at the Parmeshwar Dwar gurdwara on the Patiala-Sangrur highway here around 11.15 am and held a “closed-door meeting” with Dhadrianwale for half an hour.

But what happened afterwards is not something that Kejriwal was prepared for:

A woman media journalist claimed that Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal’s car ran over her leg injuring her. She was there to get a video byte of Kejriwal.

In the video (below) she is seen telling that the car ran over her leg and the Aam Aadmi Party Chief (AAP) did not even bother to check what had happened. Delhi CM’s cavalcade kept moving unamused. She also claimed that she was pushed aside by some of the AAP workers in the mob. The journalist went on to claim that Kejriwal did not care even if a woman was manhandled in the crowd.

It must be noted that all the while Kejriwal was having his closed door meeting with the religious preacher, Media was not allowed inside. And even after coming out, Kejriwal did not interact with any journalist. Heavy security was deployed outside the Gurudwara and even AAP supporters were not allowed to enter the premises. Arvind Kejriwal was only accompanied by his trusted lieutenants namely, AAP’s Punjab unit convener Sucha Singh Chotepur, HS Phoolka and Sukhpal Singh Khaira.

I am not going to say that it was a deliberate act but it speaks volumes about the level of apathy that Kejriwal has for people and the media. Back in 2014, PM Modi addressed a historic rally in Patna where all of a sudden and in the middle of his speech, bombs started going off. He kept his calm and told people to stay together and away from the site. And then he went ahead with his speech. Not long back Smriti Irani made sure that a passer-by who was hit by her car was given proper medical attention and that he recovered well. A leader is supposed to lead by setting examples of humanity and brotherhood. Kejriwal at this point of time doesn’t seem to be following the traits of leaders. Also there is widespread anger in Punjab over this incident, especially in the local media. The Trend #ShameOnKejriwal seems like a retaliation of what happened in Patiala.
