Keenan Reuben Episode: A Critique of Society’s Double standards

Keenan Reuben

Keenan Reuben Episode, a disturbing and ghastly attack that brought thousands of people on streets for justice to the brave hearts. It was a lesson to the faceless mob who watched them getting lynched yet couldn’t stop the assaulters. Keenan Reuben Episode an example of what speaking and standing against the injustices means. Justice has been delayed but not denied, but we lost two men who could have lived a little longer. They leave behind them, a distressed family, a saga of unparalleled bravery and a lesson to society

Keenan Reuben Episode: A father’s lone battle

Valerian Santos father of Keenan Santos pursued the case from the day his son was butchered along with his friend. He wanted the accused to know what the suffering the family is going through and for how many years they have been suffering missing their son. He doesn’t wish to ask for capital punishment because it is not rarest of rare case and he understands the law. But he does wish life imprisonment unto death for all the assaulters” he added.

Keenan Reuben Episode: A lesson to society

Keenan Reuben is a tale of unparalleled courage and determination. But it is also a standing critique of the society we live in. The society where lecherous evildoers loom at large. The ones who raped Nirbhaya in Delhi or that girl in Kerala few days back are a part of the very society we live in and they thrive on our understanding. It is the same society where people go to any lengths to prove a point, to proceed as their ego guides them.

How many Toll Plaza staffs have been shot because they stopped an ‘important person’?

How many guards have been crushed under Imported SUVs like the one who was crushed by the bidi baron in Kerala?

How may Keenan Reuben have been killed because they didn’t kneel before a self-proclaimed Dada of a locality?

Keenan Reuben case is also a critique of the hypocrisy of the society where candle marches are a commonplace affair but when a mob lynches a man or two of them, the same candleholders prefer to become a part of a faceless, nameless and weak mob. Even when Police comes looking for the evildoers, how many are willing to cooperate. How many stand as witnesses in Courts?
