Kollam Fire, J&K Floods and the empathy of a Patriotic Prime Minister

Kollam Fire

Even as the Kollam fire broke out, most of the ‘mainstream’ politicians and journalists, particularly the left leaning ones, opted to boycott the tragic side and the activeness that they had shown while addressing their vote banks and making mountains out of what was not even a molehill seemed to have vanished. Amid all this, the Prime Minister of India along with all the Central Government apparatus came into immediate activity and took real time action. Before we could even know, the Prime Minister had landed in Kerala, visited the Temple and had met the patients.

We therefore recall several instances when the Prime Minister was at the right place at the right time and the substantive difference between our Prime Minister and the other ‘mainstream’ politicians who happen to be on the other side of the other side of the political spectrum.

Kollam Fire tragedy:

More than 100 people died in Kollam Fire tragedy while more than 300 were injured. In a matter of hours the Prime Minister had taken off for Kerala along with several doctors including specialists to deal with the situation at hand.

Meanwhile, the PMO was spontaneous and proactive in waiving off all protocol formalities so as to make sure that not a single minute was wasted. Now, compare Kollam Fire tragedy with the Uttarakhand disaster or for that matter any disaster during the UPA tenure. If the attitude during the UPA tenure during emergency situations was one of lethargy and non-interestedness, the same has been converted into spontaneity and pro activism by the present Government.

Jammu and Kashmir Floods:

In 2014, the state of Jammu and Kashmir was struck by devastating floods. Just like the Kollam Fire tragedy, the PM was on his toes again. The Prime Minister visited the state two times when he was needed the most and spent Diwali with the flood victims. Now, compare this with an Arvind Kejriwal or Owaisi, will they visit a disaster affected area if it happened to have occurred around Eid or any other ‘secular’ festival or will they hold Iftaar parties on public money to address their vote banks? The answer is plain and simple; PM Narendra Modi is the only National leader who has shown the desire of rising above petty politics and doing something substantive for the Nation and the Bhartiya Janta Party amid all accusations on its character is the only political outfit which holds the hand of a victim without creating photo opportunities.

Kargil War:

PM Narendra Modi was only rising among the party ranks when Operation Vijay was being carried out in Kargil during 1999. Modi without being legally or politically bound to do so visited highly hostile and remote locations to help out the camouflaged even as most of his future political adversaries would have been busy carving out strategies and indulging in political blame game. Modi was a patriotic Indian even when he was a karkyakarta, he remained so when he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat and he has kept up this attitude even after becoming the Prime Minister of the Nation.

What his adversaries do

This part of the article discusses the places which are political hotspots for Modi’s adversaries. Interestingly, all these places are inspired by the religion and the caste of the victims of the disasters. Thus, if there is a really massive disaster but the religion and the caste of the victims cannot be segregated and the religious segregation is not conducive to their political motives. The pseudo liberals and the Media would be least bothered in making a visit or even covering it just for the sake of it. Thus, even though an Owaisi or a Kejriwal leaves his constituency or State isolated in order to visit Hyderabad University or Dadri in volatile communal circumstances and gain political currency but refuses to even comment upon the NIT Srinagar episode or state condolences towards what happened today or condemn the law and order situation when a Prashanth Pujari or an RSS worker is killed by the leftist fanatics out of political or religious hatred.

Conclusion:

PM Narendra Modi is always at the right place at the right time from a nationalistic point of view but even his vote slave adversaries are also always at the right place at the right time from a purely political and anti-National point of view. The priorities of the two camps are crystal clear. Kollam Fire tragedy testifies that, while the Narendra Modi camp is concerned with proper disaster management and an unbiased timely response system; his adversaries are interested in creating an extremely anti Nationalistic and religiously motivated atmosphere conducive and biased in their larger political interest.
