Last night we saw Kanhaiya Kumar booming in JNU with his friends and supporters. It was like the victory speech of a chieftain, who had just won an important war. News channel played the perfect Chaaran-Bhat, the same news channels which showed commercial advertisements while PM was taking on the opposition in Parliament. This speech however, was covered with detailed analysis and calculations and played on loop. Badhai ho naya Vampanthi neta hua hai.
The entire speech of Kanhaiya Kumar was against Modi/BJP, Modi’s policies and ABVP and focused on Azaadi from a lot of social and political vices. “Aazadi from caste system”, “Aazadi from hunger and poverty” etc. Kanhaiya Kumar clearly forgot why he was jailed in the first place. Everybody in the Media seemed to be suffering from the same selective amnesia. He didn’t even mention the slogans which took him to Jail. He could have condemned those slogans, but he chose not to. In fact, He asked government to release Omar Khalid and other Comrades as well.
So was Kanhaiya Kumar arrested because he belongs to Poor Family? NO
Was Kanhaiya Kumar arrested of his Caste? NO
He was arrested for being the organizer of a program in which Anti-India slogans were raised. The event organizers had pasted posters across the campus inviting students to gather for a protest march against “judicial killing of Afzal Guru and Maqbool Bhat”. Now the question here is, If Kanahiya Kumar is the “Ambedkarwadi” he claims to be and believes in Constitution, Why did they call it “Judicial Killing”? Why he shows no respect for the Supreme Court as well as President of India?
Delhi High Court granted six-month interim bail to Kanhaiya Kumar with the “condition that he gives an undertaking that he would not “actively or passively” participate in such an activity again“ Justice Pratibha Rani, in her order, held that “the thoughts reflected in the slogans raised by some of the students of JNU who organized and participated in that Programme cannot be claimed to be protected as fundamental right to freedom of speech and expression”, and that the court would “consider this as a kind of infection which needs to be controlled/cured before it becomes an epidemic. As an organizer he was responsible for this issue:
And then he said “Ab to Jail me aana jana rahega”. He again showed utter disrespect to the court’s judgement. The Oh-so-harmless gathering turned anti-India activity has now become a full blown political agenda against the current Center-Right government.
In his speech, He also profusely thanked all people and “friendly” Media channels for standing up with them. Kanahiya Kumar however spoke some facts as well. He said “We Indians forget easily”.
That’s exactly what is happening now. The Anti-India agenda now remains forgotten, only the “Innocent” students targeted under sedition charges are being remembered. Let’s consider for a while that Kanhaiya Kumar and Omar did not raise slogans, but they did hear them by the virtue of their presence. Still, they don’t wish to reveal the names of the miscreants. Not only the Kanhaiya Kumar s and Anirbans and Omars, everybody in JNU have their lips sealed on the issue, and the list includes professors too. Not a single soul in JNU knows the names of the miscreants. Impossible but true. Omar and Kanahiyya Kumar have already agreed on news channels that the slogans were raised indeed but they had nothing to do with it, so one cannot deny the slogans.
Kanhaiya Kumar wants “Aazadi from poverty and corruption”. He claims Farmers are committing suicides and government is doing nothing. True! Corruption, Poverty, Farmer Suicides and every single vice in India started on 15th May 2014.
Well to sum everything up! Kanhaiya Kumar has all the ingredients of a cunning politician who can strengthen the Anti-Modi bandwagon, He has an idol in Rahul Gandhi who plays “Poverty and Caste” card as well against the government. He also has the Makings of Kejriwal. Like Kejriwal, He invoked Rohith Vemula to cash in some dead body sympathy for himself.
Welcome Kanhaiya, the center-left space in Indian politics is infested with twofaced sympathy seeking spineless ranting opportunistic ungrateful idiots like you. You are +1 to the tally.
