Siachen Martrys: How their martyrdom was conveniently disregarded
Amidst the JNU turmoil of anti-Nationalism, hooliganism and dirtiest standard of vote bank politics we Indians forgot something extremely significant. We forgot the 10 soldiers who were martyred at the highest battlefield of the world. On the 9th February 2015, 10 Army Jawans lost their invaluable lives in an avalanche tragedy in Siachen and around a couple of days after that some goons from the National Capital of the country started talking in the divisive language of diving the nation in thousands of parts on all parameters, whether religious, linguistic, political, so on and so forth.
The Media, the Political spectrum and most importantly the masses should have been left in great grief over the tragic deaths while the anti-National goons should have been thrown in jail without any politicization. The exact opposite of this happened. The goons received utmost support from those who are ready to bring down the Nation and more importantly those who have Nationalistic tendencies forgot the sacrifices of the Jawans. We therefore make a contrast between the lives of Siachen Martyrs and those who shouted anti India slogans in JNU. We also list down reasons as to how the Jawans were boycotted and why the head of every Indian should hang in shame today for his/ her ungratefulness towards the real heroes of the Nation.
Siachen Martrys: Difference between Army Jawans and the JNU goons:
The Army Jawans not only give away their lives for the country but they compromise on the health of their parents and the future of their kids to give us a safe future. What we give them in return are petty salaries out of our tax money and at times the State even fails to provide them with the most basic of needs like Government Quarters, weapons which are a necessity for a Military man and bullet proof jackets among several other necessities. A majority of the public has now started thinking that it is the fate or duty of a soldier to die so that they no longer pay heed to it.
The JNU students also live off our tax money. They remain in colleges for long times of their lives to sharpen their political acumen and professing ‘intellectualism’ so that the divisive and anti-India elements can breed in the centre of the country even as our Jawans fight it out with the external enemies. The State provides them with all the necessities of life. They get utmost support from sizeable portions of all sections of society and once booked under sedition, the liberals make sure that Rule of Law is violated in their favour so that they are not booked like any other ‘Ordinary Citizen’.
How we forgot Siachen Martyrs and how News traders and Politicians divided us:
Indians would have cried for the Siachen martyrs but the news traders and graveyard politicians made sure that Indians forgot their nationality within a couple of days we got divided into Right and Left, Pro JNU and Anti JNU, Pro Afzal and Anti Afzal, Pro Modi and Anti Modi, Pro RSS and Anti RSS, Nationalist and Liberal and the list is endless. The politicians and the news traders have thus shown that we are no longer a society which can be stratified on the basis of caste and religion only. Now it can be divided on the basis of political lines also. When the Congress tried to drive political mileage by supporting goons all political supporters of INC forgot that they are Indians and out of their affiliation went hammer and tongs in support of Congress. The same was the case with the AAP supporters and well the Left never considered itself as ‘Indian’ so it’s not worth commenting about them.
The incident that happened in JNU was unfortunate alright but why did we make heroes out of scoundrels and why did we forget Siachen Martyrs – the real heroes. Are we so divided that we can never think of ourselves as an Indian first!
Conclusion:
The last one week is the most significant in the sense that we committed a cardinal sin by betraying those who sacrificed their lives for us. There could have been nothing so significant that should have made us forget them, once the JNU hooligans were thrown into prison that should have been the end of the matter. This week if not the whole of this month should have been completely dedicated on how cutting edge technology should be employed in Siachen to ensure phase wise demilitarization of the region so that we do not lose any more of the brave hearts.
If the news traders are so worried about the rights of hypocrites of the JNU goons who want to shut the voice of all Nationalists and go to the extent of violating the law of the land, then a complete boycott of the Media Channels is the only remedy. This might not hurt them because may be getting their dues from their political masters but at least another Hanumanthappa will not be forgotten because of another Kanhaiya. I am able to see myself as an Indian First and my head today hangs in shame for the ungratefulness that the Nation has shown towards those who made the supreme sacrifice for us.
