I am an Indian, I do not hate Pakistan but Conditions apply

Mumbai-based artist Ram Subramanian set off a social media campaign which was intended to promote positivity. It was another shot at the ill-fated “Aman Ki Aasha”, the bubble of which bursts every time Pakistan resorts to unprovoked firing on the borders killing our civilians and army men. Anyway, so the idea of the artist was holding a placard that reads “I am an Indian, I am blah blah blah and I do not hate Pakistan because blah blah blah and I am not the only one!”. The liberal social baboons soon joined this Macy’s like parade. And now groups from Pakistan have joined the bandwagon to assert their camaraderie with India.

Isn’t that sweet? Where is the time to hate, when there is so little time to love?

So I decided to prepare my “I am a… , I love… , I hate…” list and it goes much beyond Pakistan. Here is how it goes!

I am an Indian.

I am a Hindu.

I am a Brahmin.

I do not get reservations in education.

I do not get reservations in jobs.

I get branded as a culprit when I am involved in a scuffle with people of other castes.

I get branded as a culprit when I am involved in a scuffle with people of other religion.

I do not hate my fellow countrymen for being beneficiaries of caste based reservations

I hate politicians whose politics is based on reservation

I do not hate my fellow countrymen for being beneficiaries of religion based appeasement

I hate politicians whose politics is based on appeasement

I hate Islamophobia but at the same time I also hate Kaafirophobia

I do not hate Madarsas but at the same time I do believe that they need modernization

I am not a big fan of RSS but at the same time I love their nation first attitude

I hate Kashmiri Separatists

I hate terrorist sympathizers

I hate politicians who play politics over dead bodies

I hate politicians who pray for Gaza but pay no heed to Hindu migrants from Pakistan and Bangladesh

I hate politicians who support Ghulam Ali but say no word about A R Rahman

I hate politicians who cry for Akhlaq but shed no tear for Prashanth

I hate politicians who write to international organizations to solve domestic problems

I hate Mainstream Media that is unfair and partial

I hate journalists who broadcast biased opinions under the disguise of unbiased news

I hate intellectuals whose ire is selective

I hate filmmakers who only attack Hinduism

…and about Pakistan

I do not hate Pakistanis but hate Pakistan’s policy makers and legislators

I hate their army generals who never allowed Pakistan to become a full-fledged democracy

I hate Pakistani Historians who instilled a sense of false pride in the heads of naïve Pakistanis

I hate Pakistan bred Terrorists

I hate Pakistani infiltrators

I hate Pakistani gunmen that resort to unprovoked aggression

And I know for sure that I am not the only one!
