Why Somnath Bharti isn’t the only embarrassment of AAP?

In a recent development Somnath Bharti’s anticipatory bail plea had been rejected by Delhi High Court. Justice Suresh Kait of the Delhi high court declined to grant the former Delhi law minister anticipatory bail citing that “he is not only violent and outrageous at home but also before the public at large”.

To put matters in perspective Mr.Somanth Bharti was law minister in the first AAP government formed ever. He was in-charge of law and order situation of Delhi union territory. An IIT Delhi and DU alumni Somnath Bharti first shot to fame after taking charge of Delhi’s law ministry was a mid-night raid in South Delhi’s Khirki extension, where several female foreign women were allegedly subjected to urine tests in open by his associates under his guidance in a bid to curb drug and sex racket in the area.

Somnath Bharti was also reportedly known as one of the top spam operators in the World named in Registrar of Known Spam Operators (ROKSO). One of the earliest technology magazines of India PCQuest also claims that Somnath Bharti was sued way back in a California Superior Court for spamming and had opted for out of court settlement by paying damages to aggrieved party.

His history of trust in court of law for sure doesn’t sounds very encouraging.

No doubt he is presently absconding from the law of land on charges of domestic violence and attempt to murder filed by none other than his wife. Whereabouts of Mr. Somnath Bharti are presently as unknown as the Lokpal Bill promised by his party chief and the anti-corruption crusader Mr. Arvind Kejriwal.

Somanth Bharti is an MLA from Aam Aadmi Party- the party that was formed with the sole aim of cleaning politics. How exactly does evading an arrest is contributing in making this dream a reality is something that even a hyper active AAP fanboy might find hard to answer.

Amid all this Mr. Arvind Kejriwal has finally broken his silence on the issue and has made an appeal to Somnath Bharti to surrender and face charges. He has also called him an embarrassment to the party and his family.

Well, many African women from Khirki Extension must be like, “I told you so before”!

Indeed Mr. Arvind Kejriwal, a tweet now is too less, too late.

Do you remember how after Khirki extension raid by Somnath Bharti you staged a sit-in near Rajpath and threatened to disrupt Republic day parade?

Really! This is the guy for whom you wanted to call-off the celebration of India’s democratic prowess? If today Somnath Bharti has decided to play this hide and seek with Indian law, you Mr. Kejriwal very much owe the responsibility of nurturing that trait with all pride and vigor.

And what was that clean politics mantra you always talked about?

The story at ground seems to be very different. With all these cases on various AAP lawmakers in last few months it will be very safe to say that idea of clean politics has gone fugitive from the Delhi State government, just like your ex-law minister. You and your government had failed to move past acquisitions and blame game. Hoardings and newspaper ads do not clean politics. Will and action does. In recent months three of your MLA’s were booked and lodged in Jail and another one might be just on the way. How do you plan to justify this Mr. Kejriwal? With all those background checks and internal Lokpal theatrics if you couldn’t even choose 70 clean candidates how exactly do you plan to clean the whole system?

Apparently Somnath Bharti is not the only thing AAP needs to be embarrassed about!

Coming back to the case in question let us also not forget that it is just an acquisition by Somnath Bahrti’s wife Lipika and an FIR by Delhi Police and a rejection of anticipatory bail plea by both lower court and High court of Delhi but we never know may be Sab Mile Hue hain Ji! Just May be!
