Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched an all-out assault on the ruling coalition led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad at the Parivartan rally today in Gaya, in Bihar. Assembly elections are slated to be held in Bihar by October this year.

Here are the highlights from the address made by PM Modi in Gaya (All quotes have been sourced from Zee News):

  1. I came here last during Lok Sabha elections but as compared to today, then was not even half the crowd present here today. This shows the direction in which the wind is blowing
  2. Elections are approaching and people in Bihar have made two decisions – to make a new, modern Bihar and bring in change.
  3. If the coming five years are spent like the last 25 years, then the future of youths will be affected.

  7. Bihar has given lot to the whole country. There is no state in which does not have an IPS/IAS officer from Bihar.
  8. Despite all this, Bihar is unable to develop. Who is responsible for jungle raj here?
  9. Now, Delhi is with Bihar .
  10. The Ganges of development has started but due to those in power in the state, it is unable to reach here.
  11. The love people of Bihar has given to me I want to return it in the form of development here.
  12. The alliance made now to gain politically, will it last even after polls?.
  13. After MP elected BJP government in Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan pulled the state out of ‘BIMARU’ tag even before the government completed 15 years, he says.
  14. I assure you that in the coming years, Bihar will no longer be a ‘BIMARU’ state – PM Modi.
  15. There has been so much politics that no one is concerned about developing Bodh Gaya here.
  16. If we develop Bodh Gaya as a tourism spot then people will get more employment opportunities.
  17. When bomb blast took place here, the world was shocked. But people concerned about vote-bank politics were not bothered at all.

  28. I urge you to vote for development and free Bihar from jungle raaj. I assure you that I will walk shoulder-to-shoulder with you.
