Prime Minister Narendra Modi today led the first International day of Yoga celebrations in the country. He defined yoga as a means to train the human mind to embark upon a new era of peace and harmony.
The mega event was attended by nearly 35,000 participants at Rajpath in New Delhi. The Prime Minister, himself practised the Asanas with people.
Although Yoga was started and accepted as a way of life in ancient India, It is the west that has branded and packaged it like a cup of instant coffee. The first ever International Day of Yoga event at Rajpath, Delhi will hence go down in History as India’s attempt to reclaim its heritage and glory.
