Jitendra Tomar – AAP Fake Hain

This case is as exciting as an interesting daily soap hence let us do a quick recap.

Mr. Jitendra Singh Tomar, claims to have completed his graduation from Awadh University in Uttar Pradesh. After completing his graduation, he registered into ‘Biswanath Singh Institute of Legal Studies’ in Munger district of Bihar. Tomar enrolled with the Bar Council of Delhi as a lawyer in the year 2011 and then began practicing as a lawyer. 2012 was the year for revolutions in India. India against Corruption was shaking the pillars and foundations of the reigning Congress Government. Anna and Arvind had become household names. Tomar was a member of the Indian National Congress back then. In 2013 the revolution turned into a political chalet and Tomar sahib quickly joined the folks at the chalet. Shri Arvind Kejriwal, the walking embodiment of all virtues known to Humankind, rewarded Mr. Tomar for his pro-activeness by granting him an election ticket. He was defeated but not without a fight. Hence Arvind Kejriwal in 2015, now a sharper politician and a greater human being, gave him another chance. This time he didn’t disappoint and defeated sitting BJP MLA Nand Kishore Garg by a margin of 22,311 votes. Accolades and fame kissed the feet of Shri Tomar and he was appointed the Law minister of Delhi. All was going well till Delhi High Court issued a notice to Jitendra Tomar over fake degree and for filing false information in his nomination papers. It was done on the plea of one Santosh Kumar Sharma. Jitendra Tomar was quick to react and he filed an application to withdraw the complaint however the Delhi High Court refused to withdraw the plea. Bar Council of Delhi was asked to cancel his enrolment as a lawyer by Advocate Ripu Daman Singh. Tilka Majhi University the affiliating university for the law college said that the roll no. submitted by Tomar does not match their records and that it was allotted to some other person. Tomar’s counsel informed the High Court that as per the aforementioned law college records, Tomar completed his law degree in three years from the same college. Today, Delhi police detained Jitendra Tomar On the basis of a criminal complaint filed by the Bar Council of Delhi over his fake degree. Tomar has being accused of transgression of IPC sections 467 (forgery), 468 (forgery with purpose of cheating) and 120 (B) (criminal conspiracy).

Ab Aage…

#ModiScaredOfArvind remained the top trend on Twitter throughout the day. AAP Top brass cried hoarse all day. They accused the Center Government of trying to unsettle the Delhi Government. They accused the Delhi Police of playing a puppet in the hands of the MHA. They claimed that no prior notice was served to Jitendra Tomar before arresting him which was rubbished by the Delhi police. Their version of the story said that a prior notice was given to Jitendra Tomar before detaining him. When the case against him was filed, Arvind Kejriwal issued him an honesty certificate in his own signature style. He said that Tomar met him and clarified that his degrees are genuine and he is honest. Mr. Kejriwal said that he trusts him. Wow! That’s the thing about Shri Arvind Kejriwal ji. His moral compass never goes wrong and his dharam-kaanta(the balance of righteousness) always gives the accurate reading. But alas! we live in real world governed by real laws made for real people by real folks. And those laws do not really take the Compass and Balance of Shri Kejriwal seriously.

Now Mr. Manish Sisodia, the Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi says that this is a conspiracy against them to stall their crusade against corruption. He accused the Modi government of being brazenly corrupt. He also accused the Delhi LG, while he was at it. I laughed and cried at the same time. I laughed at the irony of the situation and I cried because I laughed too much.

Here are some questions from The Frustrated Indian to the Chief Minister, Council of Ministers of Delhi and the Aam Aadmi Party leaders.

  1. How does supporting a person with fake degree count as crusade against corruption?
  2. How does the Delhi LG come into picture in this case?
  3. Why is Delhi police being vilified when they are just doing their jobs?
  4. How does a person with a fake degree continue as the Law Minister of Delhi?
  5. Why wasn’t Tomar asked to step down when this case was first brought to public notice?
  6. Why is the Delhi Government accusing the Delhi Police instead of cooperating with them?
  7. How does Modi Government become the prime accused for an order initiated by the Bar Council of Delhi High Court?

These are some tough questions to answer. The Delhi government till now has been all about hyperbole. The State is battling acute electricity crisis. Many parts of the city have turned into dump yards because of the strike of MCD officials. Auto Drivers are blatantly denying passengers. Two Finger test to confirm a rape victim was imposed (which was later reverted). Free WiFi is nowhere in sight. CCTV Cameras are nowhere in sight. A world class city is nowhere in sight. New colleges are nowhere in sight. Nothing positive is in sight.

Just one good news amidst these gloomy times. Interim bail of AAP MLA from Tilak Nagar Shri Jarnail Singh has been extended. He can now stay out of jail for some time. He bashed up an engineer on duty, right? Oh! Well…
